Hardware Hacks Continued

As a follow up from yesterday's post I have some more info about DarkFader's dumping of the DS cartridge.

The board acts as a buffer and allows you to read the data while it is being sent from the game cartridge to the DS. The data is then read into the PC via a parallel cable. It appears that the data was encypted in XOR format which DarkFader has managed to decrypt. So in theory he could now reverse the process and XOR his own code and send it to the DS.

Also it is worth noting that another user on the dslinux boards has a design for a reader based on DarkFader's code, that although hasn't be tested might be feasible.

Check the post and the attached image for the full diagram.
