DS Online -- April 11th? We'll bite, right?

Misternul reported: Jadrule, developer of DS LinkUp, claims to have discovered a loophole that will allow wireless tunneling.

According to Jadrule's site, the Beta could be released as early April 11th. They're now working insure complete global compatibility - the feature request that felled the XLink Kai team in bringing us tunnelling for the DS.

With the software, hosted on a PC, gamers will have a buddy list and can even create game-specific rooms. You will not be able to join a game in progress.

We're a trusting community, and we've been fooled before. Remember the TiVo that could grant wishes? And those photoshopped pics of that GBA that would emit a holo-message from Princess Leia supposedly for sale at E3? ...but like Adama lying to the rag-tag remains of cylon-ravaged Caprican human race in his care that he could lead them to Earth in Ronald Moore's exceptional new Battlestar Galactica: right now we just need something to keep us going.

This thing could go either way, but right now I'd follow that man into hell.

Nothing to really get excited about until we actually see something work.

I highly doubt the DS will ever be online...Go buy a PSP....and use your DS as a paper-weight..

find a loophole?? seems too tough to do. But maybe it's real. and the screenshots on jadrule.tk look as if it's made in visual basic, and to do all that work..well...I dunno

I will remain positive about this whole thing. It's just that we have been strung along, for so long, so many times before only to receive the once over again. SHEESH.

I've sat so far on the edge of my seat, hitting that 'refresh' button until I've fallen off the front of my chair, only to be greeted by nothing when I made my way back up.

I'll sit patiently (while slightly disgruntled) and wait for these DS developments. But don't think that I'm not gonna pass the time by kicking some anti gravity ass in Wipeout Pure, or going online and crashing it up with Twisted Metal: Head On.

1. DS has official online plans, which will be unveiled in full at E3.

2. It's not impossible for it to be tunneled.

3. PSP is heavier than DS :p

I believe one of the biggest things they need to be concerned about, depending how they implement this, is access points that have WEP ecryption (or even newer standards such as WPA, etc.) and Access points that do NOT broadcast their SSID. I hope they find some way to encorporate these things.

I've never seen a "company" misspell its own name so many times on it webpage and in so many different ways. This sounds like bullshit, but lets be optimistic if it is for only a week.

Well, if this is fake than I really wouldn't care. Nintendo already said the DS will officially be online this year and it will be free, so we don't need this anyway.

Those screen shots could have easily been made in any graphic editing program... even MSPaint.

Yeah, it will be online, but only for games that support it. Tunneling would make EVERY game that has multi-player features online.

Personally, I'm not getting my hopes up about this, but I will stick around and wait until april 11th. If it works, then great. If not, then oh well, at least I didn't get all excited about it.
