Nintendo promises a console that won't run your code?

From a Gizmodo post...

"...but it was clear from the talk that Nintendo—the company so afraid of piracy that they shut down emulator sites and made their game discs in the Gamecube spin backwards—has no intention of letting fledgling developers copy their own content to the Revolution and play it. They even mentioned a “new DRM system” at the conference (which was heralded by a lone boo), ensuring everyone that the only way to get content onto the Revolution was via one of their locked down channels (online downloads, and I’m presuming maybe in-store purchases)."

...this is actually a great intro to a discussion about "haters" and "hating" - what the fuck did I ever do to this guy?

My theory is that a hater's hate is a factor of their pain and weakness. The suffering of the human condition puts you in a bad mood and if you're too weak to maintain that pain - you "bitch out" as a little bitch. The little bitch your pain has made you. You're not strong, not wise - so you just come off as sour. It reads the same as the weaker dog slinking away after a fight, snarling even as he whines and cries.

So, how do you combat this? Surely ignoring them doesn't really do any good. I don't get the satisfaction of flattening him out with deft, eye-stinging character assaults and he doesn't change for the better by virtue of my inaction. So let's put aside the old wisdom for a second and spitball some new solutions.

What the fuck should we do with all these fucking haters?

alright maybe my last post was a little hater'ish but its true, i have not seen any work being done on this project I see no organaztion. I see twinty different sites working for different stuff i would like to see this site be a hub for moders not a “link whore blogger” what ever happened to the bulletin board. I would like to see a catalog of DS parts pictures of the inside of a DS some sort of info or something so when i am ready to do some moding i know what im about to touch. i would like to see some firmware dump so I/other people can mess with that i know linux sounds cool on a DS but we got to get the basic stuff done first I myself would like to see a firmware replacement attempt and a hardware list on this site at least so the modders can get to modding and when we do need help we can come to "THE MOD GODS.com" and not have to read threw the CNN crap. I just say this por que when i look up DS modding this site comes up first and I think you guys should be the people to have the info up at least.

Hmm... Seems I remember a Firmware upgrade just a few weeks ago. It has one of the "me" suffexes, doesn't it?

Also, just being pandantic here, but it's more of a blog then a "site". It would be good if they had a place dedicated to modding the DS (like www.xbox-scene.com, but DSified), but for now all we have is this. And, as long as the updates come ONCE IN A WHILE (:D) I don't mind not having a full blown portal.

But hey, that's just me. To each his or her own.

Just remember, this is a website that you CHOOSE to go to. It isn't forced upon you.

Now, for the matter of why we have so many PSP updates, THAT'S another story that needs to be addressed.

:D

Keep up the (mostly) good work, team.
